Two Tennessee Democrats are hoping to get back their seats after being expelled from the state legislature over *** control protests on the House floor.
Today, the Nashville Metro Council will decide whether to leave state Justice Jones.
If he gets enough votes, he could rejoin the legislature as soon as this evening.
The other expelled Democrat, Joseph Pearson, is still waiting to work with officials in the Memphis area about his vacancy.
The Democrats, who are black, were ousted last week, while a third Democratic lawmaker, who is black and also took part in the protests, was able to keep her seat.
